Pics picked for Schmap!!

The other day I got an e-mail from Schmap, an online city guide service, and they wanted to use two of my photos from my Flickr account for their San Antonio edition! Isn't that cool?? Here is the link to their site: SCHMAP

Here is what the e-mail said:

Hi Jess,

I am writing to let you know that two of your photos have been short-listed for inclusion in the fourth edition of our Schmap San Antonio Guide, to be published early February 2008.

While we offer no payment for publication, many photographers are pleased to submit their photos, as Schmap Guides give their work recognition and wide exposure, and are free of charge to readers. Photos are published at a maximum width of 150 pixels, are clearly attributed, and link to high-resolution originals at Flickr.

Approved for Basic Grey Gallery!!

I don't know exactly how they approve layouts for their online gallery, or how hard it is to get on there, but it took 10 days for them to approve mine! It is called Sweet Dreams and is a great layout of my niece, Ellie, at 3 weeks old. I love that photo!! My friend Roni also had an altered tin approved for the gallery! Check it out here!

All mine, baby!!

That is right!! I won again! If I keep this up, the guys won't let me play anymore! I went to a friend's birthday party yesterday, where we play poker, as usual. It was weird without my husband around. He is the one who counts everything, rounds up the people, etc. I stepped into that role, along with a friend. So, in the end, and many upset people later, I took home $160!! Whoo hoo!! More scrapbook supplies!!

I'm getting published!!

Yep, that is correct!! My first published page!! Actually, they picked up 2 pages and one of my friend's, Roni, as well!! Our pages will be in their August 2007 issue. Ready, Set, Create is a message board with an online magazine that can be purchased for $5 per 6 mos., or $10 per year. When I get the download, I'll show you the pages that got accepted!! Yea!!

Design Team!!

Whoo Hooo!! I made the June Design Team on Tallyscrapper!! I am so excited for this! There are so many wonderful artists on that site, and to be among them is an honor! The others on the team are AmandaO, debbiefitz, Laurajean, niColeGadE, and pursejunkie! Go team!!

I won Texas Hold 'em!!

Friday night was my hubby's going away party, at a friend's house. Whenever we go there, we play Texas Hold 'em. I always lose. There are some guys who always play crazy, especially since they were drinking. But because we had two tables, I was with different players, the ones who aren't crazy. I did really well, getting some good hands. Then it was time to combine tables, and I continued to win. I ended up in 1st place, winning $160!!! I gave hubby $40 of that to repay our fees, but that left $120 for me!! Yea!! That never happens!! I spent half of it already, on scrapping supplies from TallyScrapper!! I can't wait to play with my new supplies! (picture from Elite Poker Chips)
